14 years after a mayhem in Shopian over the death of two young women Asiya and Neelofar, in which some civilians got killed across the valley and Kashmir remained in turmoil for over four months, the Jammu and Kashmir Government today terminated the services of two doctors, Dr Bilal Ahmad Dalal and Dr Nighat Shaheen Chiloo, for allegedly being part of a conspiracy against the Police and security forces, falsifying the facts and projecting it as a case of “rape and murder”.Now questions will be asked if this is true, where are the proofs of their criminal involvement; what action has been taken against other three doctors, five lawyers and one or two civilians who also proved guilty of the same charge in the CBI investigation but were bailed out. Who in successive governments were aware of the real facts but pushed it under the carpet. This is the time when the Government should come out with a detailed white paper with proofs about the Shopian incident of 2009.
