In a significant decision to combat the fresh spell of terrorism in Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir Police has on Wednesday evening established 19 special counterterror units, each headed by a Dy SP, in 8 terror hit districts of Jammu. They will remain stationed and will conduct counterterror operations alongside looking after the routine crime in the areas of the following Police Stations/Police Posts:-

1. Malhar
2. Bani
REASI DISTRICT
1. Pouni/Ransoo
2. Mahore/ Chassana
3. Gulabgarh
4. Passana
DODA DISTRICT
1. Dessa/Kastigarh
2. Assar
KISHTWAR DISTRICT
1. Dachhan
2. Drabshalla
RAMBAN DISTRICT
1. Ramsoo
2. Chanderkote/Batote
Sangaldan/Dharamkund
RAJOURI DISTRICT
1. Kalakote
POONCH DISTRICT
1. Baffliaz/Behramgalla
2. Mandi/Loran
3. Gursai
In close coordination with security forces, these special units will combat terrorism mainly in Jammu’s Pir Panjal and Chenab mountain ranges.
